“It’s addictive,” he says, “we sing everything from pop, to classical to the more traditional hymns. It’s enriched my life and I just want more people to experience it too. Music unites us whatever our ages.
“I had known about the choir for a while before I decided to join, but what sealed it for me, was going to the pub with some friends, and hearing all the guys burst into song there whilst still holding their pints. I went to the next rehearsal and have never looked back.
“The call of singing is so strong that when I’m on holiday I look up the local male voice choir and go along to show my support. Nearly four decades a member and I still love it!”
"It was a new challenge for me. When I sing it feels like the pressures of my week fall away and it’s a great place of friendship.
I can’t read music, but this hasn’t stopped me from learning all the songs. I just pick it up as I go along and I’m still as hooked as the first time I came along."
